Updates on the closet...we took hammers to the walls and tore some down...Yes, even ME!!! Dust flying, wall chunks scattering, and an abundance of hacking and coughing from Eric and I...but by golly, the closet will get done! ;) Here's some more photos! By the way, that's dust you see, not blurry camera shots....um, EW! ;)

HEHEHEHE...Sunday was my birthday, another year here and gone. I've always wanted to be 36...I used to think that would be a very pretty number. It looks and sounds nice. So now I shall be 36 forever...HA! OK, maybe not. To everyone, thank you for all the calls, cards, well wishes and love...I love you all very, very much...YOU are my precious gifts!

How on earth...

...Did you get ALL THAT into that itty- bitty space?!?!?! Our newest project has begun...Eric is making a bigger closet for us...or rather, me (yes, I am spoiled, yes, Eric is very good to me, yes, I have thanked him for it, too!)! So Friday he came home with boxes and away we went at emptying the closet into his office to make way for construction...it is a shameful mess...but, oh what joy to have more room! And it will be beautiful, considering all the other things Eric has done around here! And guess what, I get my chandelier!!! He's going to put one in the closet...sparkle, sparkle, sparkle...yippee! ;) Here's pictures of what's going on so far...the closet, Elena in the closet, Eric taking out staples of the floor in the closet, and my temporary closet (AKA Eric's office...yeesh!!!).

Panties!!!!!

Our days start out with a vigorous decision making process of "what to wear, what to wear"....just for the panties. Yes, really. Elena goes to the drawer, throws them out onto the floor one by one and surveys the spoils to see which is befitting to hold her tushy for the day. Blessed panties, how I love thee...hehe. Anyway, I caught it - slightly - on camera today and thought I would share. Since it is February, she felt the need to celebrate, so the Valentine Hearts Panties were the underwear of choice today.

I never thought this would be an activity so fun or something I would look forward to with such great happiness. Even more so, as I see this little joy for me, so big in Elena's life, that it is the gift of raising her as my "biggest job" that makes this completely worthwhile, completely satisfying (I know, those of you that have talked me through angst and tears over the last year and a half of desperate potty-training can roll your eyes and say "Great...now you're ok!!!" Sorry, guys, I'm a slow learner...God is teaching me patience...).

I see nothing bigger, better or more important than making sure I am here for her (and my family as a whole, obviously). I am very spoiled to get to do this...thank You, Lord, for helping me see...

Nothing New...

We're pretty boring right now, so other than colds we're getting over and freezing conditions that are keeping us in (I hate the cold!!! How many times have I said that now?!?!) not much is really going on. And I know most of you are dealing with cold weather and cold season, so no sympathies, I know!!! ;) But for the sake of entertaining and keeping with blogging I'll post some nothingness. Mondays are laundry days around here...especially the changing of the sheets...so here's sweet Elena enjoying the mess. She helped put the beds together today...well, more made suggestive comments as to how mommy should do things. She'll be some one's Supervisor someday.
