Christmas Day was spent at home with just the three of us. It was quiet but good after traveling and running around. I have a deep appreciation for quiet much more so than before. I can't decide if it is motherhood or getting older...or both! ;) We did have to coax Elena into opening presents again this year. She wanted to watch Thomas the Train and started to cry. I don't think she quite got what she'd be missing out on. Mark that in your books, 'cause I guarantee that'll never happen again! She finally did figure out that she was allowed to rip and shred things with mommy's and daddy's permission, and then it was non-stop. She also asked to open gifts the rest of the day. Funny! So though quiet and mostly uneventful, I am thankful for this time with Eric and Elena. It seems that with each passing Christmas/year, time with them gets better and better. They are wonderful blessings, and to have them in my life is such a gift!
