As I post I look at the time, and 4 years ago today we were told, "you'll have a new baby soon..."and there she was before 8:30pm...a brand new life entrusted to us by God. Elena is a blessing, a miracle, and every fiber of her being proves that simply put, HE IS. Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to care for her for You.
We started the day out with Elena, literally, as she crawled in bed with us about 2 or so this morning and stayed. She spied the balloons we'd tied to the stairwell leading down to her "surprise party" from us. She has been holding "surprise parties" for all her My Little Ponies as of late, so we thought we'd plan one for her. It worked! She had fun seeing everything decorated and opening gifts was the epitome of the morning. That and a drive through to McDonalds and a drive in the sunshine. Good times!
We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory where Elena was serenaded, SO good and SO fun. Then off for an afternoon at the "tree", which is a big play area at Northbrook Mall. She loves it there.
And now it's official...so Happy Birthday one more time, Sweet Baby. We love you!

Will you come and decorate for MY surprise party! I used to LOVE my little ponies!! Anji you are always so thoughtful and creative. elena is so blessed to have you as a mommy (and eric as a daddy) which by the way - i LOVE that picture of the two of them...you should frame it. What a fun party! I love little ponies too and the cute little birthday girl! What a fun party to be surprised with! Anj, you and Eric are making sweet memories for your little blessing. Love you all.
