Six Flags with Friends

We spent Monday at Six Flags with Kaili and her daughters "Adah-wine and Eyes-wee Bird" (Adeline and Eisleigh), as Elena calls them. We had fun on all the rides...it was a lesson in patience for the girls in the car on the way in, and Elena had to learn not to take off because she had friends with her this time, but I'd have to say considering the business, heat, and 3 girls under the age of 4, we did quite all right. And the fact that Elena had someone to hold hands with immediately as opposed to finding some new child to tolerate it, was an extra blessing! "C'mon, kids! Let's go!" This was also the first time to Six Flags for Kaili's girls, and watching their big smiles on the rides was priceless! So here's some shots of the girls. More Flags, More Fun! :) PS - the pretzel shot of Adeline may be my favorite...

she looked like she was storing up for the winter! Priceless!

Toes!

Elena wanted "rainbow toes"...well, Mommy doesn't have blue, yellow or green, but we made due. Aw, bonding...hehehe!

More Work

Enter sounds of animal-man noises of Tim the Tool Man Taylor, as we enter into "Manland", the sanctuary ...sanctuary ...that Eric preps for his next major endeavor. His garage needs to be up and running to accommodate the bath work. So a new light to brighten things was installed...I think I could actually tan from that thing! And plumbing to put in a sink - I got to help on that! It's been busy, busy here! Here's shots of what he's done so far! By the way, he also lined the walls with shelving and such to hang his tools...so proud! Yes, it's a mess, but as Eric says, "It's got to get messy before it gets clean". I believe him. ;) At one point he put a sign on the downstairs bathroom and locked it, making sure I knew that wasn't Elena's doing, it was his, and that if I tried to use it there would be a huge mess in the crawl space...um, ew...and thanks for the heads up! ;) Good times!

Nap Time

Anyone who knows Elena, knows there is NO such thing as nap time around here. So on the rare occasion that it does happen, it is a grand day for all. I mean, don't we all feel better after a good nap? So here's some cute shots of Elena and her puppy waking up. I would have taken a picture during, but I was not about to disturb that beautiful quiet. :) We love the "precious's"!

Couple more photos

Photo cred goes to Jaimie... ;)

Happy 60th, Dad!

This past weekend we drove to Ohio to be with family to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday. Our 8 hour trip down turned into 12 as just before Lafayette, a tire exploded on the car...good times! The rest of trip went well, stopping in Indy to switch vehicles and load up in my sister's van so we could all trek together the rest of the way.

Dogs, cat...that was NONE too pleased meeting Diva...babies, kids, and the lot of us had a good time going to the Lake the next day feeding the ducks, avoiding mud (well, not Claire! ;) ) and curbing the kids away from a treasure hunt that was supposed to take place for the locals that initially we thought would be fun, until we saw where it was being held and thought better of it. Grammy and Pops went out and got some treasures for the kids during nap time and hid them around the yard for their very own special treasure hunt. The kids found fruit Gushers in gem shapes and "Lions and Tigers" to cuddle. SO cute. Thanks Mom and Dad, they loved it and I know we did watching! :)

That night we grilled out and sat around the table to give Dad his gift: A list of 60 things we love about Dad, from family and friends. That was a lot of fun going around the table and reading them to him because he had some good stories to go along with a lot of the comments and well wishes...I think "Weasle" may be one of my fav's now...hehehe. Ask me about that sometime!

Then back home again Sunday...short but sweet trip that I am so thankful for. So I am posting one picture that Jaimie took of the cousins, sans babies, at the Lake...yes, stupid me forgot the camera...so I will be borrowing more from her as she sends them for you to see. Except for the one she snuck of Eric and I asleep on the couch. He's stretched out with his legs on my lap, my head is lopped over to the side, drool sliding down, ever so elegantly...pretty...but I don't remember the last time I took a nap, so it was still glorious. We just won't document it via picture!!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy! I love you and I am so glad God allowed us to have you for our dad.
