Happy 60th, Dad!

This past weekend we drove to Ohio to be with family to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday. Our 8 hour trip down turned into 12 as just before Lafayette, a tire exploded on the car...good times! The rest of trip went well, stopping in Indy to switch vehicles and load up in my sister's van so we could all trek together the rest of the way.

Dogs, cat...that was NONE too pleased meeting Diva...babies, kids, and the lot of us had a good time going to the Lake the next day feeding the ducks, avoiding mud (well, not Claire! ;) ) and curbing the kids away from a treasure hunt that was supposed to take place for the locals that initially we thought would be fun, until we saw where it was being held and thought better of it. Grammy and Pops went out and got some treasures for the kids during nap time and hid them around the yard for their very own special treasure hunt. The kids found fruit Gushers in gem shapes and "Lions and Tigers" to cuddle. SO cute. Thanks Mom and Dad, they loved it and I know we did watching! :)

That night we grilled out and sat around the table to give Dad his gift: A list of 60 things we love about Dad, from family and friends. That was a lot of fun going around the table and reading them to him because he had some good stories to go along with a lot of the comments and well wishes...I think "Weasle" may be one of my fav's now...hehehe. Ask me about that sometime!

Then back home again Sunday...short but sweet trip that I am so thankful for. So I am posting one picture that Jaimie took of the cousins, sans babies, at the Lake...yes, stupid me forgot the camera...so I will be borrowing more from her as she sends them for you to see. Except for the one she snuck of Eric and I asleep on the couch. He's stretched out with his legs on my lap, my head is lopped over to the side, drool sliding down, ever so elegantly...pretty...but I don't remember the last time I took a nap, so it was still glorious. We just won't document it via picture!!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy! I love you and I am so glad God allowed us to have you for our dad.
