Thank you, Honey

Just wanted to say thank you for Valentine's day and Birthday, Sweetheart. Love you so. XOXO
Song of Solomon 8:6
"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame."

Happy Birthday, Happy Valentine's Day

Last week was my birthday and of course we all know this past weekend was Valentine's Day, so we mini-celebrated at home last week (Elena was sick), then had a big celebration this weekend for all of us so we could get away. Eric took us to Chicago to stay at Trump Tower and had a Magnificent Mile Shopping Day.

Elena was all too excited to take taxis around town...especially the red ones! ;) She also had a Valentine's gift of her own, getting to make her very first trip to the American Girl store, where she picked out her first AG doll. She chose "Lanie", who looks very much like her and it's kinda cute in an ironic way since Elena's Uncle Mike calls her Lanie, too. She was very excited to get to carry her doll around just like all the other little girls she saw at Water Tower, and when we walked to other shops outside she kept telling her new friend, "It's ok, Lanie. Don't be scared! There's lots of people out here, but I will take care of you. C'mon, it'll be fun!" Hilarious!

We enjoyed a very nice night of room service and rest...and I have some fun pictures of the weekend. Funny note...the room actually had a "water bar" made up of several different choices of water...WATER, PEOPLE! HAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm sure after you look at the picture, you'll know which water I would have chosen...of course I didn't because that tiny little bottle was $25.00!!! It has however inspired me to go home and bling up my Smart Water before I go to the gym...Yeah, that's what I need. I think I will really be stylin' then... ;)

I hope you all had a blessed Valentine's Day with those you love, and made sure to let them know how much you love and appreciate them! Make every day a Valentine's Day...

"I Like Both Dogs"

Every now and again we babysit Oscar, Eric's partner at work's dog. We've had a good time with him, and Elena has told us many times, "I like both dogs", letting us know she has no "favorite". :) So here's some funnies from the weekend...I need to get some photos of the dogs in the snow...it's as high as Diva's head right now, so she follows Oscar so she can get through the drifts to get a good potty spot...hilarious! And yeah...the dogs are playing
tug-o-war with Elena's bathrobe...and I'm not sure who's winning!

PS - take a good look at that bathroom...Eric's going to be ripping that apart soon and we'll have a brand new bath...ooooo...excitement!

Winter Wear Diva Style

My dear friend, Julie, was kind enough to send boots to us for Diva since our weather has been hard on her little tootsies...they look like mini Uggs...TOO FUNNY! Couldn't get the best picture of this, since Diva, although warmer, is not exactly keen on the accessorizing, but still you get the idea! Thank you, Julie! Love you!

Happy Early Birthday!

It's not my birthday...yet...but a wonderful surprise came to my door at the most perfect time...God works through some pretty special people to give to His children what they need at just the right time. So thank you, Michelle, for being an angel to me.

Romans 8:28"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose"

Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

Cupcakes!

It's early Valentine's Day around here and so Elena is in full swing of festiveness...we decorated the house and baked and decorated cupcakes...and if you know the book "Pinkalicious", well, you'll understand why after all that, she says she's Pinkerella...hilarious!

Miss America 2010

It's tradition in our house that for "Miss America Night", we get into comfies, wear crowns and eat comfort foods...AKA Big Plate of Nachos!...while we cheer for our favorite gal. Sometimes I've had a girl's night and sometimes family night. This year it was just the three of us, and Elena was all too happy to wear a crown...I like her towel "stole"...now that's really going faux fur! She came down the stairs the next morning singing "There she is, Miss Diva Americaaaaaa..." Apparently the dog won that night as well as Miss Virginia! HAHAHA!

Birthday Party at Monkey Joes!

We spent Saturday with friends and family of now 3 year old Isabelle, daughter to our dear friends, Megan and Jason. "Izzi" is growing so fast, and so pretty! And her little sis, Sophie, is getting so big, too! Got to have my baby fix holding her! ;) Elena had so much fun on all the inflatables and playing with the kids. She climbed EVERYTHING! Thank you Megan and Jason for including us in on the fun! Love you!
