Happy Birthday, Happy Valentine's Day

Last week was my birthday and of course we all know this past weekend was Valentine's Day, so we mini-celebrated at home last week (Elena was sick), then had a big celebration this weekend for all of us so we could get away. Eric took us to Chicago to stay at Trump Tower and had a Magnificent Mile Shopping Day.

Elena was all too excited to take taxis around town...especially the red ones! ;) She also had a Valentine's gift of her own, getting to make her very first trip to the American Girl store, where she picked out her first AG doll. She chose "Lanie", who looks very much like her and it's kinda cute in an ironic way since Elena's Uncle Mike calls her Lanie, too. She was very excited to get to carry her doll around just like all the other little girls she saw at Water Tower, and when we walked to other shops outside she kept telling her new friend, "It's ok, Lanie. Don't be scared! There's lots of people out here, but I will take care of you. C'mon, it'll be fun!" Hilarious!

We enjoyed a very nice night of room service and rest...and I have some fun pictures of the weekend. Funny note...the room actually had a "water bar" made up of several different choices of water...WATER, PEOPLE! HAHAHAHAHA!!! I'm sure after you look at the picture, you'll know which water I would have chosen...of course I didn't because that tiny little bottle was $25.00!!! It has however inspired me to go home and bling up my Smart Water before I go to the gym...Yeah, that's what I need. I think I will really be stylin' then... ;)

I hope you all had a blessed Valentine's Day with those you love, and made sure to let them know how much you love and appreciate them! Make every day a Valentine's Day...
